We offer full therapy services to all of our long-term residents. With our newly expanded therapy gym, fully qualified therapy professionals and state-of-the-art equipment, you are assured the very best care at The Maplewood. And because we offer everything under one roof, we can integrate all of your needs through an individual plan of care that changes as your needs change. Here are a few of the therapies we offer:

Physical Therapy includes exercises designed to improve range of motion, balance and other gross motor functions. It can be useful in improving or maintaining the ability to transfer safely from bed to chair, getting into and out of a car, improving balance or even as an effective pain management tool.

Occupational Therapy focuses on the ability to perform day-to-day, daily living tasks. We work with residents to help improve or maintain the ability to bathe, dress, eat or engage in other fine motor activities.

Restorative Therapy services include both physical and occupational therapies where residents are working with licensed therapists in a goal-based program. Many times this program is offered to restore function following a surgery or illness. After completing the program, many residents move into a maintenance program, tailored to their specific needs.

Restorative Nursing Care refers to our popular maintenance program, which helps residents maintain as much independence as possible. Working with therapy aides on an individualized plan, residents work through strengthening, stretching and mobility exercises in an effort to maintain range of motion, balance and general physical ability.

Speech & Language Pathologists can assess, treat and help prevent disorders related to speech, language, communication and swallowing concerns.
